Quick Process
In most cases, the entire process is completed in 3 to 6 weeks
STEP 1Application
You provide basic information about the property using our simple application form.
STEP 2Review
We review the information from Step 1 and perform a title search to ensure we can contract that permits CHI to accept the property subject to satisfactory title, tax, lien, and violation searches.
STEP 3Final Approval
We perform title, tax, lien and violation searches and, if satisfactory, schedule closing. Donor performs appraisal for tax purposes (not shared with CHI).
STEP 4Closing
We execute all documents for the closing, process the deed transfer and recording, and notify all necessary state and local agencies. You'll receive a receipt for all future tax, maintenance, and insurance expenses, and send you a tax-deduction receipt.
